200 Business leaders gathered for the ‘Costa del Sol Business awards 2011’ ceremony
Marbella, 27th October 2011, Andalucía Emprende, an Andalucian public foundation, via CADE in Marbella has underlined its work on the Costa del Sol in helping start up companies or strengthening established ones. 40% of the business people who use the services of CADE Marbella are foreign residents, explained Carmen Pino head of Andalucía Emprende in the Costa del Sol area of Andalucía.
Carmen Pino presented the 4th edition of the ‘Costa del Sol Business Awards’, which were created and organized by CADE Marbella with the collaboration of Marbella Town Hall, the Malaga Chamber of Commerce, Unicaja International and Andalucia.com. The awards recognised the work done by foreign resident owned businesses on the Costa del Sol. This year’s event was celebrated in the Palacio de Congresos in Marbella and was attended by around 200. Representatives from each collaborating company were present: Jose Luis Hernández, Councillor for Tourism in Marbella. Also present was Jason Oscar Ferry, Unicaja, Juan José Gonzalez Ramirez, president of CIT Marbella representing Málaga Chamber of Commerce and Noemí Román from Andalucia.com.
The importance of the event was to highlight foreign owned business and to acknowledge their contribution to Business generally on the Costa del Sol as well as the province of Malaga, and all of Andalucía. Also noted was the importance of good communication between public institutions and foreign companies, allowing experiences to be shared and encouraging new projects to be started.
The award candidates included both companies and freelancers with offices in Andalucía. There were six different categories of awards.

The finalists and winners were as follows:
The Special Judges’ mention went to Turkish Airlines for their work in promoting Andalucia.
The finalists for the Business Promotion of Andalucia award were Cooll Deals, Sabor y Salud and Indigo Incoming. The winner was Sabor y Salud.
The finalists for the Promotion in Andalucia award were Shop View, Innova Sinspiration and I – Answer. The winner was I – Answer.
The finalists for the Integration into Andalucia award were Marbella 4 days Walking, Check in and Spanish Approach. The winner was Spanish Approach.
The Association Award went to Marbella Business Institute.
Nominated for Young Entrepeneur were Soy Eco, Cruceros Online, and Placement Finders. The winner was Placement Finders.
Nominated for the Company of the Year were Media Machine International, Euroweekly News, and PLC Media. The winner was Euroweekly News.
Before the awards were presented the business leaders listened to two exceptional speeches, the first by Mr. Gabriel Castelló from BT Global Services and the second by Mr. Colin Wilson from the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management, about their successful business careers and sharing experiences which they have gained.
